3 Ways to get the Most out of Experiential Marketing Summit

Published by: Scott Schoeneberger

The Experiential Marketing Summit is coming up fast! It will be held May 11th – 13th at the Marriot Marquee in San Francisco. As an experienced exhibitor and attendee I want to share with you how to maximize your experience at this year’s event. The three best ways to get involved are visit vendor booths, sessions, and networking.

1. Check out all of the vendor booths - even if you’re a vendor! There’s definitely no shortage of new things to discover. I find myself heading to the booths that interest me first, but I always force myself to go back to the rest. There are so many different products & services on display, all with unique stories behind them. Even if you’re not responsible for purchasing, checking out what’s on display can often lead to some really interesting ideas for projects you’re working on.

2. Attend sessions that might not initially peak your interest. I know time is limited and there is overlap in sessions, however some of the best presentations I’ve attended were the ones that I might not have picked first. How did I end up in those particular sessions? Generally when tagging along with co-workers, or attending with/for a client.

3. Don’t forget to network! Perhaps this is a no-brainer, but one of the most valuable aspects of this conference is the networking. If you’re a bit on the quiet side when out in public, this is the perfect venue to get outside of your comfort zone. I don’t think you could find a more outgoing group than at an entire conference filled with marketing folk.
We hope to see you at the Experiential Marketing Summit this year, and when you are there make sure to stop by and say hi to Bluewater. We will be at booth #308 with our new interactive experience "Flappy Face".
